Nationwide County Recorder Offices Links
I would like to offer you resources to make finding county recorder offices easier. (Note: Depending upon the state and county, a recorder's office may be called the registrar of deeds office or county clerk office).
Here are some links for you to quickly find the appropriate county recorder office. Once you find the right county, go to their website and look up the offices that you need (county assessor office, county treasurer office, and county recorder's office). A lot of counties now offer online search capabilities so that you can look up tax information, property information such as pictures of the house, and deed and mortgage information for a property.
You can download my book How to Search Property Records
to learn how to search county records!
There are a few different resources you can use to find your county. I find that it's all about which website works best for you! Check out the links below:
NETRonline
This website is my favorite, although it is somewhat complicated to use. Click on the state that you want and then click on the county from the drop down list on the left side. Here's the neat part. If there is a website there will be a link for you to click on. When it says "website only" this means there are not any online search functions. If there is an online search function the website will link directly to it for you. Please note that this list is generally up-to-date but on occasion you might find that there is a website for a county office that they do not list. So it's a good idea to always do an internet search or make a phone call to double check!
National Association of Counties (NACo)
This is a nice website which offers information on each county, such as demographics, address, phone number, and website links (clik on the highlighted county name).
Hamilton County's Nationwide Recorder Office Listing
Wow, how cool that a county recorder office would take the time to compile a list and make it available! It's one of the only few sites on the internet that make this information available.
US-Counties.com
This one has an easy to use map display where you click on the state and then on the county. You will only get a general county website if available, but they also have municipality/township listings, which can come in handy for those states that don't have assessor/auditor offices and you must contact the township directly for information.
If you haven't found it using these resources, what can I say! I hope that you found these tools helpful.
You can also try our county maps page to look at a state map which shows the county boundaries, or try or other page which breaks down several online search resources by state listing.
Happy Searching!
